Artwork note:
This is a painting that depends on
certainty of line. Here, the linear
elements sweep and dance, stretch and
twist their way across the canvas to
generate an explosive inner tension that
seems both to threaten and secure its
unity at one and the same time. Bodies,
as they reveal themselves, only ever
appear as fragments. They seem to emerge
out of a garden only to disappear back
into it again.
